Girl At The Dollar Rental Car
(A Stranger So Composed)
There she was, a mystery stranger.
And she was beautiful,
A wake up call from the stupor of the airport.
On my way home
She sat across from me on the shuttle
From the terminal to the cars
Quiet demeanor, intelligent eyes.
I was enthralled ..................
(or alternatively "she wasn't wearing a bra")
Was she from here?
She looked Scandinavian.
Seemed likely the case.
Probably here for a family occasion.
She didn't seem out of place.
Never the less I should have announced
I had two of three evenings free
During my stay should she like to
Get together with me.
Three days later I
flew out
Just like I flew in.
And not at the airport, and not on the shuttle
Or in between,
Did I see a beauty,
A stranger so composed.
And I kept my eye out the entire time
Til I had to go.
